How to Choose a Plastic Surgeon
5. Breast augmentation is now one of the more popular plastic surgery procedures. During the procedure, which may be performed at an onsite surgical facility, the surgeon makes an incision in one of four places: on the underside of the breast, around the areola (the nipple), in the armpit or through the navel. The surgeon then places implants of either silicone or saline in the patient's breast. This procedure takes 1-2 hours and has a recovery time of 4-7 days. Patients wear a support bra when they are done and may not undergo any heavy physical stress after surgery. Some patients choose to combine breast augmentation with other procedures such as liposuction and tummy tuck for a fully body enhancement. If considering plastic surgery it is best to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon as they have extensive education, training and experience.
