How to Choose a Plastic Surgeon
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that can enlarge and reshape a woman's breast. During the procedure, which takes 1-2 hours, the surgeon makes an incision near the patient's breast and inserts an implant in one of three places: behind the pectoral muscle (complete submuscular), in front of the pectoral muscle (subglandular) or within the pectoral muscle (partial submuscular). Breast augmentation is separate from a breast lift. In a breast lift the surgeon actually removes part of the breast and the rest of the breast is tightened and toned. The breast augmentation procedure has a recovery time from 4-7 days. Patients should know that breast augmentation will not change your life, but it will enhance it.
