How to Choose a Breast Implants Surgeon

In 1992 silicone breast implants were pulled from the market due to claims that, if ruptured, they could cause health problems in patients. During the following thirteen years the Federal Drug Association (FDA) tested the claims, found them to be false and re-released the implants back onto the market. Though silicone implants are an option, they are not the only one. Saline implants are also available, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Saline implants, if ruptured, contain a material that can be reabsorbed by the body, unlike the fluid in silicone implants. Silicone implants, however look smoother and feel more realistic than saline implants. Saline implants sometimes ripple under the skin as well, which is why women with smaller breasts prefer silicone implants. When determining which implants are best for you, consult a certified plastic surgeon.
