Plastic Surgeon Certifications
Plastic surgery has become more well-known since the creation of such popular television shows as Dr. 90210 and The Swan. On such programs patients often receive a single procedure or can receive a series of procedures, which is commonly referred to as combination plastic surgery. The most popular procedures to enhance, redefine or reshape patient's appearance are breast augmentation with breast implants, tummy tuck, liposuction, nose surgery and facelift. If considering plastic surgery it is best to consult a plastic surgeon who is board certified in order to assess the risks, costs and benefits of plastic surgery. Many board certified plastic surgeons possess extensive experience and practice in their field. After they have received a medical degree they must complete 3-5 years of training in general surgery. They then go on to complete another 2-3 years in plastic surgery training and some continue to complete additional fellowships in disciplines such as facial reconstruction.
